Sr.Teresina SD

Born on 25/02/1930 Professed on 07/01/1950 Demise on 29/04/2023   Motto: – “My beloved to me and I to Him” Thresiamma was born on Feb, 25, 1930 at Kanjirathanam, Pala Diocese in the prestigious Maliakal family. Her parents were Mr. Kurian and Mary. She was the nineth out of twelve children. After passing E.S.L.C, she joined Sisters of the Destitute at Chunangamvely in 1948. She made her first profession in 1950 and received the name Sr.Teresina SD. Her Motto was ‘By the grace of God I am what I am”. She made her final profession in 1956.Sr.Teresina served at different places as teacher, assistant superior and procurator. In 1980 she studied social work. Sr.Teresina was a pious soul and gave priority to prayer in her life. She was a loving person and was highly artistic. She respected and loved superiors and sisters. She led a very simple life, had great concern for the poor and the destitute. She loved to pray Rosary, made frequent visits to the Bl. Sacrament. It was in 1996 while she was at Peringamala SD Convent, some variations in her ECG was found out and as a result she came to SD Provincial House Chethipuzha for treatment. In 2005 she underwent Angioplasty at St.Thomas Hospital, Chethipuzha. After that she was resting at Santhwana. 2023 April 16 onwards Sr.Teresina was found weak and sick and needed help for everything. On April 24 her condition became worse and received Sacrament of the sick from the Superior and parish priest of Chethipuzha CMI Monastery Fr.Thomas Choolapparambil.  Her condition went from bad to worse and on the 29^, April, in the midst prayers and chants she received Holy Communion and slowly breathed her last, RIP. Her body was kept in the mortuary at St.Thomas Hospital, Chethipuzha. Her funeral was on May, 1^, morning at nine.
