Sr. Regis Parappuram SD

Sr.Regis (Agnes) was the sixth of seven children, of late Mr.Joseph Parappuram and late Mrs.Annamma. She was born at Muttuchira, on 13 January, 1930. She lost her father when she was eight years old. She passed SSLC in 1948 and joined SD convent, Chunangamvely. She made her First Profession on 7 January, 1950 and Perpetual Profession on 6 January, 1956. Late Fr. Abraham Parappuram is her brother and Fr.Alex Parappuram, her nephew. Late Sr.Agnes Neerakal SD is her aunt; Sr.Jose Mary SD and Sr.Elizabeth Ann SD are her nieces. For many years, she served in the old age home, mess and pantry. Her service to the aged priests in priest homes is commendable. Sr.Regis was local superior in many communities like Chunangamvely, Thottumugham, Nellimattam, Thuravoor, Mudiyoorkara, Nazarath Thekkekara, Changanassery, Provincial House, Mercy Home, Chethipuzha and Kodinattukunnu. Sr.Regis had a caring nature and motherly approach to everybody. She loved the sisters and obeyed the superiors whole heartedly. She had child-like simplicity, jovial nature and made others happy by cracking harmless jokes. Sr.Regis was a very good vocation promoter too. She was a very good singer and used to play harmonium very well. Sr.Regis had great devotion to the Blessed Sacrament and Holy Qurbana. For 88 long years she lived for the Lord and for the service of the destitute. After coming to Santwana, she used to spend long hours in the chapel conversing with her beloved Spouse. Her life ended on 12 February, 2018, at 5.30 am. Dear Sr.Regis, your selfless hardwork will ever be an inspiration for us.
