Sr.Andrews (Aleykutty) was born on 8 February, 1934 at Melukav, Pala diocese. She was the third child of her father’s first marriage. Her parents were, late Mr.Ittiyavira Vattakanayil and Mrs.Aley. She was an extremely smart girl. She completed Pre-University and joined SD, Chunangamvely; made her First Profession on 6 January, 1957 and Perpetual Profession on 5 May, 1962. Late Sr.Alphonsa SD is her aunt.
She studied Malayalam Sahithya Visarad and TTC. Later Sr. Andrews was teaching Malayalam in the High School classes of Kuzhuppilly and Perumanur. She paid special attention to the poor and needystudents. Sr.Andrews was of hard working nature and always rendered a helping hand in the domestic affairs. Her ready wit was praise worthy as well as noteworthy! She was the General Auditor, Provincial  Auditor and Provincial Councillor. Moreover, she was orderly and spick and span in life. The saying, ‘it is better to wear out than to rust out’ was true in the case of Sr.Andrews. She had great devotion to Our Lady and often used to say that she wanted to die on a Saturday.
In the year 2000, she underwent surgery for brain tumor and due to its complication she lost her memory and started behaving like a little baby. Rest of her life she could not be recovered totally. As per her wish, on a Saturday, at 6.50 am, on 21 July, 2012, in the midst of reciting Rosary and in the presence of the near and dear ones, she passed away quietly.
