Belthangady – Mangalore

The convent  and Jyothi hospital  was blessed  and  inaugurated  by  Mar  Lawrence  Mukkuzhy, the present  Archbishop  of  belthangady  diocese  on June  19, 2004. It  was  started  to  provide  medical  care  to  the  poor  people  who  are  living  in  ignorance  and  superstition  and  conscientize  them  through  awareness  programmes and  medical camps.

At present  60 bed  Jyothi  hospital  is  well  equipped  with  modern facilities. Sisters  are  specially  interested  in giving  medical care  to  the poor patients  especially  in  the palliative  care unit. They  also  assist  in  all  the  activities  of  the  Cathedral  church  and  the bishop’s house.

The present  members  of  this  community  are  Sr.Merit, Sr.Lourd Mary, Sr.Modesty, Sr.Cicilia, Sr.Lisa, Sr.Pavana, Sr.Anjana Rose, sr.Anooja, Sr.Jisha Rani, Sr.Lincy Rose, Sr.Jeenet  and Sr.Soumya.
